Step back in time as we salute veterans with a USO style Swing Dance & Fly-In. On Saturday festivities include dancing under the stars with Swing band, Terence McArdle and Jumpin’ Tonight. Red, Hot & Blue will serve up smokin’ pulled pork BBQ. Aerial fireworks display and a HUGE bonfire (weather permitting) tops off the evening. This is also a great opportunity for out-of-town’ers to visit the Nation’s Capital.
Sunday morning is our annual Ultralight Poker Run with cross-country flights to local airfields. At each stop pilots will collect a poker card. The wining poker hand takes home the cash pot!
Tom and Debra, along with their dance team the Eight Week Wonders, will conduct a beginner swing dance lesson and performance for the crowd. Tom and Debra, Washington, DC’s most popular swing dance instructors, were honored to serve as official swing dancers for the World War II Memorial dedication activities on the National Mall Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30, 2004. Blue Ridge Paragliding travels to one of the premiere free-flight sites in the United States. “The Point” is famous for smooth laminar air, consistent weather, magnificent scenery, and pilots from around the world. The knowledgeable folks at Cloud 9 Soaring Center will be our host, providing daily group lessons. This will be an excellent opportunity for Powered Paragliding pilots to transition to free-flight. We also have day trips planned to Park City, Sundance Film Institute, and Snowbird Ski Resort.
|Here’s what last year’s attendees had to say…|
|“The best vacation I ever had. I still have a weird grin on my face. People at work are concerned.”
“Since this was my first experience with free-flight, I was skeptical how much I could learn in one week. Little did I imagine I would launch from Randolph Ridge with you guys. Unbelievable experience!”
“I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful opportunity! …Thanks again Jerry–what an AWESOME trip!”
